It would be very nice if there was a one stop shop, a clearing house of sorts where people could go and get the facts and truth about Champion Genesis assembled ( I can't bring myself to use the word built ) modular homes.

I am entering year 3 of my modular nightmare. Be sure you know who you are dealing with and their financial stability. The dealer I bought from was responsible for the set up and installation. He hired his family as subs to complete the "setup" of the home. They are all out of business or have had their licenses revoked. My "home" must be redone beginning with an improperly placed foundation, all the way up to a poorly installed roof. I am looking at over $100k in repairs, this is in addition to the approx. $70k I have spent on attorneys, engineers, and experts. Needless to say, my dream has become a financial, daily nightmare. Thanks to this ordeal I will be left with a home that I will have great difficulty selling, if I can find anyone that would buy it, and I will lose most if not all of my life savings.
Beware before you do business with this industry. The manufacturer will not back up their authorized dealer, and any damages will become a finger pointing game between the dealer and manufacturer.

I wrote to 20/20 to get help for all of us. If we all write to them, maybe they will listen? Let's face it, after the endless money going out for house repairs we can't afford attorneys. We are all in the same boat and it's sinking. One at a time we are powerless. Together, we may have a chance with the help of 20/20. We are a Cedar Fire of 2003 rebuild and I'm tired. I'm sick all of the time from the mold and have dropped from 135 pounds down to 112 pounds. Our homes shouldn't destroy us. Let's join forces and turn this thing around.
